So you have decided to take a look at flooring. Maybe you are ready to order, or perhaps, you are just browsing. We are happy to assist you at whatever stage of your project that you are in. There are a few things that you will need to know to get the most out of your shopping experience.

Start with an idea

You don’t have to know exactly what product you want. (If you do, that’s a bonus!) You can start by knowing where the new flooring is going to be installed, and possibly have some colour preferences in mind. We love it when customers bring in pictures, magazines, or even Pinterest boards. The more inspiration the better! If you don’t have any ideas, that is okay too, our job is to help you find something that you love.

Bring anything that needs to be matched

It is always a good idea to have pictures of your cabinets, furniture, or any adjacent flooring to match up with samples in the store. This will give you a starting point when it comes to style decisions. This can also be incredibly helpful if you are building o home or an addition. Bring in countertop, cabinet, and even window covering samples, to give yourself as much help as possible. We often have customers set up an entire mock room here on the front counter. Sometimes people even match their flooring to photos of their furry friends in an effort to hide pet hair. Whatever you need to coordinate with, we can help!

Keep an Open Mind

You may come in knowing exactly what brand, style, and colour of flooring you want, only to find out that you love something else even more. Or maybe you find out that your original idea won’t work for your space, now that you’ve spoken with an expert. If you get too hung up on a particular idea, you may become disappointed, and it will make finding a solution even more difficult. While sales associates may not know your taste as well as you do, we will certainly do our best to show you the best options for your project. You may be pleasantly surprised.
