A few months ago the office team, Kim and Erin, went for a two-day Innovation Workshop run by Schluter Systems. Half of the time was spent in class, and the other in the workshop, waterproofing makeshift showers and installing Schluter products.

The conference was packed full with information – from the history of Mr. Schluter to the parts and tools of the trade: Kerdi-Board; Ditra-Heat; Kerdi-Drain; Schluter Shower Systems; and more. Waterproofing and tile were the buzz words for two days as we heard stories of mold, cracking, shifting, and immense water damage.

Within the installation lessons were tips on placing the product, keeping it safe from damage, and how to use the proper trowels and other tools. Lots of mortar everywhere!

It is interesting to note that if you are to attend one of Schluter’s training courses, you are treated to accommodations and meals. And an enormous amount of free product. Just saying…

Of course, our install team, headed up by our owner, Brian, can install your shower from start to finish – don’t ask for Kim or Erin, though. They will stay in the office!
